Attending the conference were representatives of the representative board of households who issued certificates of sustainable forest management and FSC certificates in Luc Ngan district; members of the Board of Representatives and leaders of communes in the roadmap to implement sustainable forest management plans and issue forest certificates in the district.
At the conference, the delegates heard the consultant report the results of the implementation of the sustainable forest management plan and the FSC certificate of Luc Ngan district, period 2022-2025 from November 2022 to present. . After 6 months of implementation, the consultant; SMART WOOD Vietnam Joint Stock Company has closely coordinated with the People's Committee of Luc Ngan District, the District Representative Board and the Party Committees and authorities of 8 communes selected to participate in the pilot, in the period of 2023-2027, well implemented the projects. proposed content. In which, the district People's Committee has issued a decision to establish a representative board of household groups; survey and construction survey, map by user and list of forest owners eligible to participate in FSC. Communal and village meetings disseminate the benefits of participating in the FSC, and at the same time review the information of forest owners. Conduct a review of the actual status of the forest; distribute and collect applications to communes and villages according to the reviewed list. According to the consultant's assessment, there are 130 groups, with 1,285 forest owners in 6 communes (Tan Moc, Tan Lap, Kien Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Ho Dap, and Dong Coc) eligible to participate in the FSC. Total forest area is over 4.3 thousand ha; mainly Eucalyptus and Acacia.
On the basis of initial results, the consultant and SMART WOOD Vietnam Joint Stock Company proposed a number of solutions to the District People's Committee, representative boards of groups of households, professional agencies, committees and authorities. communes in order to step by step remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process. Strengthen propaganda to raise the roles and responsibilities of the Party Committee, authorities and people, actively coordinate and create favorable conditions for consultants to complete the next steps. The goal is, by August 2023, to conduct an official assessment, correct errors and issue FSC certificates to forest owners.
