BAC NINH - Smart Wood BG Joint Stock Company has just been allocated over 2 hectares of forest land in Nam Duong commune by the Bac Ninh City People's Committee to build a large-scale wood pellet and wood chip production plant; opening up great opportunities for the local forest product processing and export industry.
Accordingly, 2,098 hectares of planted production forest in plot 6, sub-area 55, Nam Duong commune, will be converted to other uses to implement the project
The wood pellet and wood chip factory in Nam Duong commune has a production capacity of approximately 60,000 to 100,000 tons of wood pellets per year.
Smart Wood BG Joint Stock Company, established in 2024, operates in the field of processing and manufacturing wood products, including wood pellets. To meet requirements regarding raw material origin and export standards, the company is collaborating with forest-planting households in several communes in the former Luc Ngan district, developing production forest areas according to sustainable management principles.
Currently, the area of forests under production linkages is approximately 8,400 hectares and is expected to continue expanding. Developing concentrated and stable raw material areas is the basis for forming a linked chain from planting and harvesting forests to processing and consuming products.
According to the company representative, in addition to the project in Nam Duong commune, they currently have a wood pellet production plant in Dong Xoai 1 Industrial Park, Dong Nai province, with a capacity of approximately 120,000 tons per year, and products exported to Japan and European markets.
Investing in a wood pellet and wood chip factory in Nam Duong commune contributes to improving processing capacity, expanding consumption markets, and increasing the value of plantation timber; while also promoting the formation of a sustainable linkage chain from forest planting and harvesting to processing and exporting forestry products in the area.
